Summer is somehow halfway over, but team Fashionista is still basking in sunshine-filled happy hours, Zendayapress tour outfits and warm-weather wardrobe upgrades.
Flip flops may currently be all the rage for the fashion crowd, but our editors’ summertime footwear rotations include a metallic wedge sandal, a sporty ballet sneaker, a Eurosummer-approved strappy sandal and a ’70s-inspired running shoe. Classic summer staples — relaxed jorts, oversized sunglasses and breezy off-the-shoulder tees — made up our July uniforms, although transitional pieces such as lightweight cardigans and elevated balloon pants are just on the horizon.

Puma Speedcat Ballet Suede Sneaker, $100 $75, available here: “I’ve been eyeing these ballet sneakers for a while, but this chocolate brown suede colorway (and Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale price!) convinced me to finally pull the trigger. These slip-on sneakers toe the line between sleek and sporty, making them especially versatile and comfortable. Tory Burch Sunglasses, $252, available here: “Aren’t these so fun? I wanted to challenge myself to wear sunglasses that aren’t just basic black. While these oversized, marble-patterned ones are definitely unlike anything I have in my rotation, they’ve still been super easy to style and not too ‘out there’ for my taste.” —Janelle Sessoms, Staff Writer
Kotn Zahra Off-Shoulder Tee, $62, available here: “As someone who is hyperaware of how fabrics feel on my skin (especially in this heat), this top from Kotn has quickly become one of my favorite basics. Their fabrics are soft and breathable, as they claim to source Egyptian cotton. Black Suede Studio Easy 50 Wedge Sandal in Gold Metallic, $345, available here: “If you tend to go for neutral shoe, don’t sleep on metallics. These have been particularly great for grassy outdoor summer events, thanks to the wedge heel, but they look just as cool with jeans and a tee as they did with the bridesmaid gown I wore last weekend.” —Dhani
Ruti The On The Loose Work Pants, $249 $199, available here: “I’ll admit that the barrel-leg trend largely missed me, but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the relaxed silhouette after trying Ruti’s viral version. The pull-on style quickly became my go-to airport outfit this month as it boasts a comfortable elastic waistband, side pockets and wrinkle-resistant fabric. I typically pair the loose pants with suede sneakers for a casual look, but they can easily be dressed up with some kitten heels and a lace cami for an elevated ‘fit.” —Catie
Lisa Says Gah Seen Library Nia Top, $98, available here: “It is true that I usually would rather be reading, so I had to scoop up this top the second it went back in stock. The 100% cotton T-shirts are a collab between Los Angeles-based book community Seen Library and one of my favorite California labels, Lisa Says Gah. Aritzia Passage Cardigan, $110, available here: “July’s heatwaves have me manifesting October’s sweater weather. Until then, I’ll be reminiscing on my collegiate years with this navy argyle-print cardigan. It’s a stylish transitional piece that works across seasons, and its lightweight yarn isn’t stifling during summer’s milder days. I love wearing it with relaxed denim and sneakers for casual strolls to the library or (more likely) a nearby coffee shop.” —Catie

Nike Moon Shoe OG, $105, available here: “I’m finally hopping on the retro, low-profile sneaker bandwagon with this Nike style inspired by the brand’s first-ever running shoe from the ’70s. I love the simple shape with its distinctive nylon upper, and the green offers a fun pop of color against neutral outfits.” —Dhani
Bared Footwear Syma Sandals, $279, available here: “These strappy leather sandals helped me navigate the streets of New York City and Milan with ease — and no blisters — thanks to the podiatrist-founded brand’s supportive footbed. The sandals are surprisingly comfortable (even while wandering around cobblestone roads), and the gold toe ring detail adds the perfect touch of bling to my Eurosummer-approved sundresses.” —Catie
Old Navy Mid-Rise Baggy Jean Cut-Off Shorts, $30, available here: “I never thought my elder millennial self would actually like a pair of long (are we still calling them Bermuda?) jorts in 2026, but here I am. I’ve never felt great in denim shorts, but there’s something about this mid-rise baggy pair that makes me feel laid-back cool when styled with a feminine top and ballet flats. And this price? Alex and Ani “The Twilight Saga” Spider Monkey Locket Necklace, $58, available here: “I can’t overstate the unbridled joy this ‘Twilight’-inspired necklace brings to my inner 13-year-old self. The gold engraved heart locket also contains a surprise inside: a miniature Bella and Edward, as well as the infamous quote that still makes me cringe: ‘You better hold on tight, spider monkey.’ It’s a masterpiece.” —Catie
