Mandya: A farmer-cum-businessman was found murdered in Gulagatta village under Malavalli Rural police limits on Friday. Shivarudra Gowda, 56, is the victim.According to sources, when he was visiting the farm, he was attacked with lethal weapons and was murdered late on Friday. The incident came to light when the family alerted the police as he didn’t return home. His body was found in a pool of blood on the farm later that night.For the last month, the victim was in a tussle with another person over drawing power cables to his irrigation pumpset. Both were cutting each other’s power lines, causing a dispute.According to Mandya superintendent of police Shobha Rani VJ, a dispute over the power line was suspected as the reason for the murder. “We are investigating the incident from all angles. A special team was formed for the investigation,” she said.
