Ranchi: Family members of 41-year-old Ramprasad Ghosh, a Kokar resident who has been missing since a devastating flash flood struck Nepal last week, met Union minister of state for defence and Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth on Sunday, seeking his intervention to trace him.Ghosh works as an administrator at a hydropower project in Nepal’s Trishuli region. His family has been unable to contact him since Wednesday, after a flash flood swept through the area, raising fears for his safety.The family urged Seth to coordinate with the Centre and Nepalese authorities to locate Ghosh and confirm his whereabouts.His sister-in-law, Ditya Ghosh, said the minister had assured the family of all possible assistance to bring him home safely.“It is four days already since the devastating flood wreaked havoc there and we have not received any information regarding his whereabouts. We spoke to him on Tuesday for the last time,” she said.“Two members of the family reached Trishuli on Sunday to gather information about him,” Ditya added.Ghosh joined the hydropower project about six months ago. He had visited Ranchi for a 10-day break two months ago and returned to Nepal in July, according to his family.Terming the situation tragic, Seth said he was in constant contact with the Indian Embassy in Nepal and the ministry of external affairs for updates.“It is quite worrying that he has been missing for the past five days. I am trying from my end to get an update on him. I talked to officials at the Indian Embassy in Nepal on Sunday too,” Seth said.
