Rajkot: A 40-year-old man from Adipur in Gandhidham taluka of Kutch district allegedly died by suicide on March 5, with his family accusing several persons of harassment and financial pressure that pushed him to take the extreme step. The deceased, identified as Dipesh Tripathi, reportedly hanged himself at his residence. His wife, Deepa Tripathi, lodged a complaint with Adipur police against Vipul, Rupesh, Kalpesh and Ankita of Kataria Enterprise, along with others. In her complaint, Deepa stated that her husband had recently taken a distribution agency for Balaji Wafers and had paid an advance deposit for the business. However, she alleged that Kataria Enterprise repeatedly delayed the delivery of goods despite receiving payments through RTGS.According to the complaint, Dipesh supplied wafers to customers along a fixed distribution route. After he obtained the agency, the owners of Kataria Enterprise — Rupesh, Kalpesh and Ankita — allegedly failed to supply goods on time despite receiving advance payments. Vipul, who handled orders in Gandhidham, allegedly instigated others against Dipesh, disrupting the business and causing financial losses.Deepa further alleged that although Dipesh had made an advance payment for goods on March 2, the consignment was not delivered on time. On March 5, he was again denied the goods, leaving him under severe financial stress as he struggled to meet his business commitments.Dipesh had borrowed money from several individuals, including Karan Ahir, by pledging gold jewellery as collateral. Deepa alleged that despite repaying more than the jewellery’s value in interest, the lenders continued to demand money and allegedly harassed him. Before taking the extreme step, Dipesh reportedly wrote a suicide note and recorded a video on his mobile phone detailing the alleged harassment by the accused. A case has been registered of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Gujarat Money Lenders Act.
