Prayagraj: Pratapgarh police on Tuesday lodged an FIR against a social media user under section 353(2) of BNS for spreading rumour and fake information of cattle slaughtering on kanwar route.Police said a social media user uploaded a post claiming that cattle slaughtering was being done at his land in village Rajmatipur under the limits of Sangipur police station which falls on the main route of Sangipur – Ateha marg and thousands of kanwariyas use same route to reach famous Baba Ghuisarnath temple.However, when cops checked the fact and inquired from locals, the information was found false and registered a case against social media user under relevant section.Initial police investigations revealed that the the social media user through his X handle uploaded fake information about slaughtering of a pig in his field in order to frame his elder brother as he had a land dispute with him. Cops said that the user had made an abortive bid to disturb the law and order and peace of the area during the ongoing Shrawan month and lodged a case against him. Two police teams have been formed to take stern action against him.
