Buidco says 17 of the 41 projects already completed and 10 more are nearing completion

Patna: Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (Buidco) has stepped up construction of modern crematoriums across the state under the second phase of the Bihar government’s Saat Nischay programme, with 17 of the 41 projects already completed and 10 more nearing completion.Reviewing the progress of the projects on Thursday, Buidco managing director Animesh Kumar Parashar directed officials to expedite the remaining work while maintaining quality standards and adhering to timelines. He also asked project officials to conduct site inspections and submit detailed progress reports to the headquarters.The crematoriums are being developed across Bihar at a total cost of Rs 241.71 crore to strengthen urban civic infrastructure and improve public amenities. According to Buidco, 14 projects are currently under various stages of execution.The completed crematoriums are located in Kishanganj, Araria, Darbhanga, Revelganj, Siwan, Supaul, Gopalganj, Arwal, Jehanabad, Sasaram, Ara, Purnia, Khagaria, Bihat, Katihar, Bihar Sharif and Saharsa.Another 10 crematoriums, located in Manihari, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, Sitamarhi, Motihari, Bhagalpur, Gaya, Buxar, Bettiah and Samastipur, are in the final stage of construction and are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.Parashar said the projects are part of the state’s efforts to strengthen urban infrastructure under the Atmanirbhar Bihar vision and ensure better civic amenities across districts.
