In a proactive move for urban development, Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reviewed pivotal infrastructure ventures in Patna, spotlighting Patliputra Park alongside essential road and drainage enhancements. He pressed officials for swift execution, aiming to optimize both foot traffic and vehicle flow. These undertakings are set to uplift western Patna’s connectivity and aesthetics, easing transit towards Danapur and beyond.

Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Thursday inspected the progress of work on the Patliputra Park and three road and drainage-related infrastructure projects in the state capital. He asked officials concerned to ensure timely completion so that residents have better facilities for the smooth movement of pedestrians and vehicular traffic.Apart from Patliputra Park, Kumar stopped to inspect the under-construction road linking Patli Road with Nehru Path. He also reviewed the work for linking Khagaul, Nehru Path and Ashok Rajpath and examined the construction of a four-lane link road.Stopping near Saguna Mor, he inspected the construction of underground drainage along with the widening and strengthening of the road on both sides of Nehru Path from Rupaspur Nahar to Saguna Mor. These works form part of the ongoing infrastructure projects in western Patna.“The western Patna area is expanding fast. There is ‘kutcha’ drain on both the sides of the Nehru Path. It is being converted into a 12-metre-wide-box-cum-bridge road. It will amount to beautification of this part of the capital city and also make the traffic movement smooth and easy,” Kumar told officials, stressing the need for timely completion.Later, he stopped on Gola Path near Krishna Chowk to review the widening of the 2.20km road from Nehru Path to Gola Road. Kumar said its completion would facilitate easier movement towards Danapur.Before inspecting the road and bridge projects, Kumar reviewed the construction of Patliputra Park and also went around the site. The park will have facilities for walking, a gym and play areas for children.Those who accompanied Kumar included water resources department minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, principal secretary to the CM Deepak Kumar, secretaries Anupam Kumar, Kumar Ravi and Chandrashekhar Singh and Patna DM Thiyagarajan S M and SSP Kartikeya K Sharma, among others.
