Buxar: Students of several colleges affiliated to Veer Kunwar Singh University (VKSU) have alleged that graduation Part-II Semester-II examinations are being conducted without regular classes, while also accusing some colleges and the university of irregularities in certificate and transfer certificate fees.The students claimed certificate charges were collected during examination form submissions, but certificates were not issued on time. Later, they alleged, students were again asked to pay Rs 500 online for obtaining the same certificates.“We already paid the certificate fee while filling up the examination form, but later we were again asked to pay Rs 500 separately online. This is unfair,” said Archana Kumari, a student of Sumitra College, Dumraon.Several students also questioned how semester examinations were being conducted despite poor classroom teaching. “Classes were hardly conducted, yet examinations are being held regularly. Students are suffering because of the university’s negligence,” a student said.The university released the Semester-II examination schedule on May 6 and the examinations began on May 12. Internal examinations were conducted between May 6 and May 12. Students said the examinations were being held barely a month after the publication of Semester-I results, leaving little preparation time.A teacher associated with the examination process said, “We have no moral ground to check unfair means during examinations when proper classes have not been conducted.”Veer Kunwar Singh University examination controller Lal Babu Singh said he had recently taken charge and the schedule had already been fixed to maintain the academic session.“From now onwards, I will try to ensure that no semester examination is conducted without regular classes. I will also look into the matter regarding the additional Rs 500 being charged for certificates,” Lal Babu said.
