Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary, BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi and other senior party leaders paid tributes to former deputy CM and Padma Vibhushan awardee Sushil Kumar Modi on his second death anniversary on Wednesday.“His invaluable contribution to Bihar’s development and good governance will always be remembered. His ideals and thoughts will continue to inspire us to move forward on the path of social service,” the CM said.Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar said Sushil Modi, who served as deputy CM and state finance minister from 2005 to 2013, rescued Bihar’s fiscal situation from a crisis and laid a strong foundation for disciplined financial governance. “By attaining the rare distinction of being a member of all four legislative houses—Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council—he enriched Bihar’s parliamentary traditions,” he said.Saraogi said that throughout his public life, Sushil Modi upheld high ideals of honesty, simplicity and public service.“His role in laying a strong foundation for good governance in Bihar, steering development in a new direction and strengthening the party organisation will always be remembered.
