Hassan: The district administration is preparing to establish Hassan Spardha Kutira, a competitive study centre at public libraries in the district to provide youths aspiring for civil services with a proper space to study.The authorities were planning to establish the centre in the libraries functioning under the district central library. With this, library services were expected to go beyond and support hundreds of youths to fulfil their dreams. Space available at the libraries will be expanded and converted into reference section for study.To start with, required seating arrangements and a digital board will be installed at the Hassan Spardha Kutira Coaching Centre. Information about notifications from any department will be published and made available to aspiring students. The names of students will be registered and arrangements will be made as per requirements, authorities said.“A free Wi-Fi and internet facility will be provided for students in the library,” said deputy commissioner KS Latha Kumari.An Indira Canteen, which offers food at affordable prices, will be established near Kalabhavana to ensure quality and affordable food for the aspirants.An action plan was to be prepared for necessary furniture for readers to sit in the currently functioning reference section, and a plan was also to be prepared for modifications to the newspaper section located in the old building of the city library. The library was to be kept open even on govt holidays as students come to study.The move received a positive response from aspirants. Vinod, a graduate, said it was a good development for aspirants. The officials must ensure that the service will be provided to candidates. He also suggested the authorities check if it is possible to role in civil servants to guide the aspirants.
