Kolkata: Trinamool on Friday lodged a complaint against Rajesh Kumar, the BJP candidate for Jagatdal, for allegedly violating the MCC and threatening to “tie [voters] upside down and beat them up on the day results are announced”.The party provided a link to a video shared on X as evidence. The complaint stated that the candidate’s behaviour constitutes criminal intimidation under Section 351(2) of the BNS and violates Section 174 of the BNS for exercising undue influence over voters.The party urged EC to show-cause Kumar and register a criminal complaint. TMC further requested EC to ensure all BJP netas refrain from such acts. Kumar is a former DGP-ranked officer. He served as EC-appointed Kolkata police commissioner during the 2019 LS polls.
