Lucknow: “Matrika Mahotsav 2026,” organised on the eve of Mother’s Day at a hotel in Lucknow turned into a grand celebration of motherhood, women’s empowerment and inspirational achievements. The event saw participation from women achievers, social workers, artists and members of civil society. Former Lucknow mayor Sanyukta Bhatia was the chief guest. She emphasised the importance of mothers in shaping families and society and added that honouring mothers reflects respect for Indian culture and values and praised initiatives that promote awareness and respect towards women.Many women were felicitated for their achievements and contributions in different fields. Spiritual guru Sohani Pandey received the “Divine Mother Award,” while Varsha Verma was honoured with the “Timeless Mother Award.” Renita S Kapoor received the “Glamorous Mother Award,” and Adya Srivastava was presented with the “Charismatic Mother Award.”The festival also featured ramp walks showcasing traditional attire, confidence and women’s self-expression. Some acid attack survivors too walked the ramp, receiving applause for their courage and resilience.
