Kanpur: Police arrested two men following an encounter in connection with the August 15 murder of a man in Etawah’s Jaswantnagar area. During the encounter, the main accused was shot in both legs, while his associate was arrested from the spot. Police recovered two country-made pistols, four cartridges, and Rs 2,120 from their possession.Shyam Veer Singh, a resident of Peepreepura, alleged in a complaint to police that Anshul Yadav, Sukhveer, and members of their family opened fire with the intention of killing them. He stated that his nephew Rahul reached the spot, where the accused allegedly shot him dead.An FIR was registered at Jaswantnagar police station under charges including murder and other relevant sections.On Thursday, the SOG, surveillance team, and Jaswantnagar police were checking suspicious vehicles on the road between Dhanuwa Road, Khushalpura, and Kheda Buzurg when they attempted to stop two suspects. Police said the accused opened fire on the team, and in retaliatory action, Anshul Yadav was shot in both legs. He was arrested in an injured condition and sent for treatment, while Sukhveer was also arrested.Police also registered a case against both accused under charges related to the Arms Act.
