Kolkata: Eastern Railway has rolled out special trains with confirmed accommodation for summer travellers. Special trains were available from Saturday to Thursday (April 30), originating from Howrah, Kolkata, Asansol, Durgapur, Malda Town and Bhagalpur stations to popular destinations, like Kanpur, NJP, Gorakhpur, Khatipura and Hadapsar. The tickets had confirmed accommodation in several key services. “As the summer vacation sets in, people are gearing up for their holidays. To cater to the surge in demand and ensure a smooth and comfortable travel, ER is operating a wide network of special trains from April 25 to April 30,” an ER official said.Confirmed tickets were available on Howrah-Khatipura Spl, Malda Town-NJP Special and Howrah-Hadapsar Spl, offering both sleeper and AC classes. Additionally, Kolkata-Gorakhpur Spl, Malda Town-Gandhidham Spl and Kolkata-Dibrugarh Spl offer accommodation in sleeper and AC classes, including second and third AC and sleeper berths.Also, travellers can book seats on Kolkata-Kanpur Central Spl, Kolkata-Chhapra Spl, Kolkata-Bhubaneswar Spl, Howrah-Jabalpur Spl, Malda Town-NJP Spl, Howrah-Madar Junction Spl, Howrah-Chandigarh Spl for confirmed sleeper, second and third AC seats. “Passengers can check the Rail One app, IRCTC website or visit reservation counters to secure their confirmed seats before berths are exhausted. They can visit the official railway inquiry system for detailed timings and halts of these special services,” the ER official said.
