Patna: Energy minister Shailesh Kumar on Monday visited the SCADA building to inspect the functioning of the state’s modern 1912 toll-free customer care centre and review consumer service mechanisms, maintenance activities, and ongoing development projects under the department.During the inspection, the minister interacted with electricity consumers from districts including Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Banka, Naugachia, and Purnia to obtain feedback on power services. He spoke to consumers who had recently registered complaints and sought information about the effectiveness of the 1912 helpline. Consumers expressed satisfaction over the prompt resolution of their grievance and appreciated the department’s efforts to improve service delivery.Reviewing the operation, Kumar reiterated the state govt’s commitment to providing uninterrupted and quality power supply to all consumers. He directed officials to intensify awareness campaigns about the 1912 service, particularly in rural and remote areas, so that more consumers can benefit from the facility. He also stressed the need to reduce the number of dropped calls and further strengthen customer support service.The minister expressed satisfaction with the toll-free service and the system of collecting data every minute, which helps improve consumer service delivery. He also visited the newly launched Sahyog toll-free helpline 1100 and the operators training centre where he suggested measures to enhance communication skills and transparency.
