Daltonganj: Unidentified thieves stole a printer, a biometric attendance device and an electronic instrument from PM Shri Govt Upgraded High School at Naudeeha Bazar in Palamu’s Chhatarpur police subdivision.The theft came to light on Thursday, when the school reopened after Milad-un-Nabi holiday, headmaster Rohit Kumar said. “The school’s desktop computer and its accessories were found intact,” he added.The school has around 800 students enrolled in classes I to X and seven teachers, including the headmaster.Naudeeha Bazar police station officer in-charge Niraj Singh said the school management had lodged an FIR and an investigation was under way. “Police have obtained vital clues and expect to crack the case soon,” he said.Sources said this was the fourth theft reported from govt schools in the district in two months. Earlier, a biometric attendance device was stolen from a school under Untari Road police station limits, solar panels from a school under Ramgarh police station area, and four desktop computers and their accessories from a school under Chhatarpur police station.Police suspect a pattern involving electronic equipment. Sources said some dubious customer service points may be buying stolen printers, biometric devices and other electronics at low prices, raising suspicion of a local resale network behind the thefts.
