An elderly woman from Bihar was rescued by police and taken to a hospital

Ramgarh: An 80-year-old woman from Bihar was found abandoned in bushes near Bhuchingdih village on the Chitarpur-Rajrappa Temple road in Ramgarh on Sunday morning, police said.Villagers noticed the elderly woman lying along the roadside and alerted Rajrappa police. A police team reached the spot immediately, rescued her and shifted her to Sadar Hospital, Ramgarh, for a medical check-up.According to villagers, the octogenarian was in a distressed condition and was unable to walk properly. She alleged while speaking to them that she had been dumped in the bushes by her brother and his wife. A police officer said she told villagers that her brother and sister-in-law brought her from Bihar and left her near Bhuchingdih.Police said the woman appeared weak but was stable after primary treatment. Krishna Kumar, officer in charge of Rajrappa police station, said police received information from villagers about an elderly woman lying abandoned near the Chitarpur-Rajrappa road and shifted her to hospital.After treatment, police contacted her family members and handed her over to them. Officials said her allegations are being verified, and further action will be taken after recording her statement and speaking to relatives. No case has been registered yet, police indicated on Sunday.
