Udaipur: A 62-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his wife with a brick following a drunken altercation at their home in Haraniya Kheda village under Jhadol police station limits in Rajasthan’s Udaipur district Wednesday, police said.The accused, Bherkibai Kateria, was taken into custody Thursday after the couple’s family members, who lived in a separate house, found Udaylal Kateria dead and alerted police.Jhadol station house officer Karnaram said the couple had been consuming liquor together when an argument broke out after Udaylal allegedly abused his wife. Enraged, Bherkibai allegedly picked up a brick lying near the room and repeatedly struck him on the head, killing him on the spot.Police shifted the body to the mortuary at Jhadol hospital for post-mortem, and detained Bherkibai. During preliminary questioning, she allegedly confessed to the assault, police said.
