A 70-year-old man was tragically beaten to death in Biharsharif’s Nalanda district following a heated dispute over a dustbin’s placement. The victim, Ramadheen Prasad, was allegedly attacked with a brick by a neighbour after an argument escalated late Friday night.

Biharsharif: A 70-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death following a dispute over the placement of a dustbin in Nalanda district on Friday late evening. Police have arrested the main accused in connection with the murder.The incident took place in Naunhi village under Rajgir police station area. The deceased was identified as Ramadheen Prasad.According to the victim’s grandson, Mandeep Kumar, the dispute started over shifting the position of a dustbin. A neighbour, identified as Pappu Yadav, allegedly objected to the dustbin being moved from its original place, while the victim’s family claimed that sanitation workers had placed it there.The argument reportedly escalated around 11pm when members of the neighbouring family, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, arrived and started abusing the family members. Hearing the commotion, Ramadheen came out of his house, following which he was allegedly attacked with a brick.He sustained a severe head injury and died on the spot, police said.Rajgir SHO Raman Kumar said the body was sent to Biharsharif Model Hospital for postmortem. Based on the statement of the victim’s family members, an FIR has been lodged against three persons. Police have arrested the main accused, Pappu Yadav, while raids are underway to nab the other two accused.
