Srinagar, Mar 10: The Employees Joint Action Committee Jammu Kashmir (EJAC) has urged the government to immediately release all pending dues of employees, pensioners and daily wagers across Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Shab-e-Qadr, Jummat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr.

EJAC President Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam said government employees, pensioners and daily wagers were facing severe financial hardship due to delays in the release of salary arrears, leave salary, GP Fund withdrawals, pension benefits and other admissible dues.

“Festivals like Shab-e-Qadr, Jummat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr hold immense religious significance. It is a matter of great concern that many employees are still awaiting payments that are rightfully theirs. Releasing these dues before Eid will not only ease the financial burden on their families but will also send a positive message of goodwill from the government,” Shabnam said in a statement issued here.

He said the government workforce played a vital role in maintaining administrative efficiency and public service delivery, and that continued delays had caused anxiety and hardship among thousands of employees and their families.

Shabnam appealed to the concerned authorities to prioritise the clearance of all pending claims and ensure dues reached employees well before Eid.
