Mandya: Mandya district minister N Cheluvarayaswamy on Tuesday emphasised that education serves as a formidable power and the primary guiding light for every individual, asserting that a truly equitable society can only be constructed through learning.Speaking at the 135th birth anniversary celebrations of national leader BR Ambedkar, the minister highlighted that the written Constitution provided by Ambedkar ensures security, equality and fundamental rights for all classes of society.He noted that the global recognition of India’s Constitution is a matter of immense national pride and urged the youth to view education not merely as a tool for employment but as a means to understand the country’s history.He reiterated that the govt is implementing various programmes to ensure universal access to education, as it is the only path to building a balanced society. He also mentioned that the state’s ‘Five Guarantee’ schemes are helping 70% of the population live peacefully, embodying Ambedkar’s vision of self-reliance.The event was presided over by MLA P Ravikumar Ganiga, who described Ambedkar as a universal teacher whose principles are celebrated globally, from Canada to Europe. He announced an allocation of Rs 2 crore for the completion of Ambedkar Bhavans in the district, stressing that the administration must continue to operate within constitutional frameworks to ensure peace.Zilla panchayat CEO KR Nandini administered the constitutional preamble, followed by the honouring of various community achievers.
