Kolkata: Eden Realty Group on Tuesday announced an investment of Rs 5,000 crore across residential, commercial and hospitality projects on both sides of the Hooghly by 2030. The projects include a premium riverside residential project in Howrah’s Shalimar and five luxury hotels with a total of 600 rooms along the riverside in Kolkata, Howrah and South 24 Parganas, Eden Realty MD Arya Sumant said.“For the first time, we are planning to enter the hospitality sector and will build five luxury properties on the land we got on lease from the SMPK (Kolkata port). We have had talks with several Indian and international hospitality majors to manage the properties, but are yet to select a partner,” he added.

The first hotel will come up on a 2.3-acre plot. “It will be an 80-key hotel and will entail an investment of around Rs 150 crore. We plan to set up a 300-key hotel with an investment of about Rs 450 crore on a 20-acre plot taken on lease from port authorities at Garden Reach,” company joint MD Kumar Satyaki said.The company plans to set up hotels at Raichak and Budge Budge, and a hotel-cum-commercial project on Strand Road.The residential project in Shalimar will house 1,000-plus units in 5 towers, and will be set up with an investment of about Rs 2,000 crore, Sumant said.
