Thiruvananthapuram: Thiruvananthapuram first class judicial magistrate court (III) on Sept 15 will hear a plea seeking cancellation of the bail granted to two accused in the case related to the alleged attack on Enforcement Directorate (ED) officers.The plea seeks cancellation of the bail granted to CPM Palayam local committee secretary I P Binu, and the first accused, Nithin Raj. The police have sought cancellation of their bail, alleging that they violated the conditions imposed by the court.The court will provide copies of the petition to the defence on Sept15, when the police are also expected to submit their report. The prosecution has alleged that the accused violated their bail conditions by participating in Onam celebrations held at Museum police station after appearing there to comply with the requirement to sign at the station.The police subsequently approached the court seeking cancellation of their bail on the ground that the conduct amounted to a violation of the bail conditions.The case relates to an alleged attack on ED officers who had arrived at former chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s residence to investigate financial transactions linked to the company Exalogic, the IT company owned by his daughter Veena. According to the prosecution, a group of around 300 people allegedly intercepted the officers and assaulted them.The court will now examine the police allegations and the defence’s response before deciding on the plea to cancel the bail.
