Chennai: Tamil Nadu chief electoral officer Archana Patnaik on Thursday said the Election Commission of India (ECI) would decide whether releasing TVK president Vijay’s film ‘Jananayagan’ would fall under the the purview of model code of conduct.“We will seek directions from the ECI in this regard,” Patnaik said in a brief interaction with reporters. “This is the first time such a situation has come up,” she said when asked whether the potential release of the film would constitute violation of norms.She said deployment of additional security forces has commenced in the state. Initially, 50 companies of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were deployed and now 250 more companies have been allotted to Tamil Nadu by the ministry of home affairs, she said. These companies shall be inducted on April 6 and 13, Patnaik said.The commission would carry out randomization of EVMs and VVPATs, which would be used for the April 13 poll, on March 23.
