The Election Commission has assigned new names and symbols to two factions of the All India Trinamool Congress. Mamata Banerjee’s group will now be known as Mamata All India Trinamool Congress with a football player symbol. The Ritabrata Banerjee-led faction received the name Democratic Trinamool Congress and an envelope symbol. Both groups will use these new identities for upcoming by-elections in West Bengal.
