Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the Election Commission and the BJP, alleging a “conspiracy” to delete voters’ names to create fear ahead of elections.Addressing the media after a daylong visit to Kanpur, Akhilesh claimed that the EC was acting in tandem with the BJP and failing to act against those allegedly removing names from voters’ lists using forged signatures. He said SP’s “PDA Praharis” had identified such instances, but no action was taken.Outlining his party’s development roadmap, he said if voted to power, the SP would develop a Kanpur–Etawah–Kannauj “trade triangle” to boost industrial growth. He promised revival of the iconic Lal Imli mill and said Kanpur would regain its industrial identity.
