Gurgaon: Chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday warned the developer of Pioneer Industrial Park of criminal action if it failed to immediately provide land for a proposed 33kV substation, and ordered FIRs against firms developing unauthorised colonies in the district.Saini issued the directions while chairing a meeting of the district public relations and grievance redressal committee, where 17 complaints were taken up. Fourteen cases were resolved on the spot, while three were kept pending until the next meeting, with officials directed to submit status reports on them.Pioneer Industrial Park Welfare Association had complained that the developer had not provided the land earmarked for a 33kV substation on Bilaspur-Tauru Road, affecting power supply to industrial units. Saini directed power department officials to ensure the required land was made available by the developer immediately so construction of the substation could proceed on priority.Residents of Krishna Colony in Jhunjharsa Veeran complained of alleged illegal development by colonisers and attempts to sell and encroach upon land. Saini directed officials to register FIRs against such firms and said there would be no tolerance for cases in which people were misled into buying properties in illegal colonies or their hard-earned money was put at risk. Officials were also told to act against unauthorised construction and colonies as per law and address affected residents’ grievances on priority. On a complaint concerning Sadar Bazaar, where e-rickshaws, autos and other vehicles were frequently parked haphazardly and passengers picked up and dropped off mid-carriageway — causing inconvenience to residents and traders and risking obstruction to emergency vehicles — Saini directed MCG officials to designate e-rickshaw stands and suitable locations for passenger boarding and alighting, streamline traffic from Post Office Chowk to the bus stand, and conduct regular anti-encroachment drives to keep the route clear. The CM said the govt was working continuously to improve civic amenities and resolve residents’ grievances, and that improvements were visible in areas that had earlier faced persistent problems, while acknowledging heavy rainfall could put additional pressure on civic systems and cause waterlogging. He stressed that grievance redressal should not be limited to immediate relief, directing departments to work towards permanent solutions and to regularly review complaints and previous directions to ensure pending matters were resolved on priority. The meeting was attended by industries and commerce minister Rao Narbir Singh, Pataudi MLA Bimla Chaudhary, Sohna MLA Tejpal Tanwar and Gurgaon MLA Mukesh Sharma, among others.
