Mangaluru: Ullal police seized e-cigarettes worth Rs 37,000. According to the complaint filed by Ullal police station sub-inspector Siddappa Naranur on Tuesday, police received credible information that a person was illegally storing and selling e-cigarettes.Acting on the tip-off, a police team conducted a raid around 9pm at a house in Talapady. During the raid, the accused, identified as Nawaz, was found to have stored e-cigarettes in a white sack. Police seized e-cigarettes of various brands worth Rs 37,000. The accused was allegedly storing the products without any licence to sell them to customers. Since the seized items fall under violations of the Cotpa Act, 2003, and the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Packaging and Labelling) Rules, 2020, a case has been registered against the accused, and further legal action is being initiated.
