Women apply ‘sindoor’, vermilion, to one another as part of ‘Sindoor Khela’ ritual on the occasion of ‘Vijayadashami’
Kanpur: Bengali families celebrated Sindoor Khela on the occasion of Dashami on Wednesday.First, the aarti of Goddess was done by 11 women, followed by the ‘darpan visarjan’ (immersion ritual involving a mirror) conducted by the priest, in which female devotees participated with great enthusiasm.After that the women began the ‘sindoor khela’ by applying ‘sindoor’ to the Goddess and to one another, while exchanging wishes for Vijayadashami.
