Inspector Sharma stated that both arrested suspects are undergoing interrogation, and police expect to uncover further details regarding the forgery network during questioning.

Ludhiana: The Division Number 5 police have arrested a Dugri resident and his associate for allegedly submitting forged documents in court to secure bail for his brother, who is facing snatching charges.The action followed directions from an additional sessions judge, who ordered an FIR after the forgery attempt was detected during judicial proceedings.The arrested accused have been identified as Mani Raj, a resident of Urban Estate Dugri Phase 2, and Abhishek of Durgapuri Waddi, Haibowal. Mani Raj’s brother, Dharaminder Singh—who is currently undergoing trial in a snatching case registered at the Model Town police station on February 3, 2021—has also been named as an accused.According to inspector Amritpal Sharma, Mani Raj and Abhishek produced forged documents and fake identity records before the court to fraudulently obtain bail for Dharaminder, thereby attempting to deceive the judicial system.Police registered a case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Sections 319(2) (cheating by personation), 318(4) (cheating), 336(2) (forgery), 337 (forgery of court records/public registers), 338 (forging valuable securities), 340(1) (making false documents), 339 (possession of forged documents), and 61(2) (criminal conspiracy), along with Section 66-D of the Information Technology Act.Inspector Sharma stated that both arrested suspects are undergoing interrogation, and police expect to uncover further details regarding the forgery network during questioning.
