Ludhiana: A man allegedly attacked his live-in partner with an iron rod, shaved her head to humiliate her, and posted a video of the attack on Instagram after she tried to stop his habit of drinking, police have said.The cops in Dugri registered a case against Anand Chaudhary based on a complaint from the 31-year-old woman, a mother of three whose children live with her estranged husband. The pair, both married to others, had lived together for a year.The injured live-in partner told police that a drunken Chaudhary, who had fractured her arm in the assault, had made several attempts even in the past to shame and defame her online. She said that on the day of the assault, he had also threatened to “get rid” of her.Head constable Arpit Pasi has said that charges against the man include sections 115(2) for voluntarily causing hurt, 117(2) for grievous hurt and 351(2) for criminal intimidation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
