Kolkata: A 60-year-old former Navy officer was stabbed by a 25-year-old inebriated youth at a meat shop off the Kalyani Expressway in Barrackpore after he protested against a drunken brawl at the shop on Wednesday morning. The retired officer sustained deep stab injuries to his abdomen and is still battling for life at a Barrackpore hospital. Police arrested the accused, Shyam Paswan.
