Hyderabad: Locals caught two drunk men for allegedly damaging a flexi of Iran’s late supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Hosseini Khamenei at Moula Ali Kaman on Thursday and handed them over to police.Around 5:30am on Thursday, two persons travelling in a Thar vehicle stopped near Moula Ali Kaman. They disembarked from the vehicle and tore a flexi of Khamenei. Locals passing by spotted the duo and intercepted them. The duo was handed over to Malkajgiri police.Police said the accused were identified as a 32-year-old IT professional and a 30-year-old event manager from Ram Nagar. After partying at Ram Nagar, they were travelling to one of their relative’s house in Rampally and stopped at Moula Ali Kaman on seeing the flexis.“There were two flexis of Khamenei, set up by locals, at Moula Ali Kaman. The duo damaged one of the flexis. Alerted by the locals, our staff rushed to the spot and took them into custody. We have subjected them to breathalyzer test and the blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of both of them was above the permissible limit,” Malkajgiri inspector B Satyanarayana said.Police said they would book an MV Act case for drunk driving since no other complaint was received from the locals.
