Vadodara: Residents of Akshardham Society in Akota woke up to a loud bang early on Thursday when an SUV rammed into the compound wall of a bungalow. The impact was so severe that a portion of the wall collapsed.Police identified the driver as 25-year-old Sachin Kashyap, a resident of Vasna-Bhayli Road. When Kashyap stepped out of the vehicle, he was barely able to stand. Locals alerted the police, who reached the spot and questioned him. According to police, Kashyap was in a drunken state and lost control of the vehicle. An FIR has been registered against him at JP Road police station for rash driving and driving under the influence of alcohol. The incident has again highlighted the rising cases of rash and drunken driving in the city.
