Chandrapur: Days after an intoxicated man allegedly beat his mother to death at Dongargaon village of Mul taluka over a dispute about cooking bitter gourd, a similar case of domestic violence has surfaced under Warora police station limits.In the latest incident, a drunk son allegedly assaulted his elderly parents over a delay in being served food on Friday. Police have registered a case.The incident took place in Nagari village of Warora taluka. A 70-year-old woman, Jija Maroti Parchake, lodged a complaint stating that her son Hanuman is addicted to alcohol and frequently quarrels with his parents over trivial issues.On Friday, Hanuman reportedly returned home in an inebriated condition and asked his mother to serve food. After eating the meal, he allegedly abused her, questioning why the meal was delayed. He allegedly beat his mother with a stick and threatened her with dire consequences if he did not receive food on time from the next day.When Jija’s husband, Maroti, intervened, Hanuman allegedly assaulted him with a stick and fists. Police have registered an offence against Hanuman under Sections 352, 351(2), and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
