Gurgaon: A 31-year-old motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries after being hit by a tractor driven on the wrong side near Oaks Medley Mall in Sector 99 around 8.20pm on Sunday.The driver, Hari, a resident of Sambal in UP, who was allegedly driving recklessly, was arrested after a medical examination confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol while driving.The injured man, Vinit, is a resident of Daulatabad village and works at a private company in Manesar.According to the complaint filed by his father, Madan Gopal, Vinit was returning home on his motorcycle (HR-26-DQ-8527) when a tractor (HR-89A-6770) came from the wrong side at high speed and hit his vehicle. Vinit fell off the bike and sustained several injuries.He was rushed to a govt hospital in Sector 10, where he was found unfit to give a statement.Cops reached the spot and found the tractor along with its trolley. The driver, Hari, was present at the spot. Cops suspected him of being under the influence of alcohol. This was subsequently confirmed by doctors during his medical examination.Both the damaged motorcycle and the tractor were seized and parked at the Dhankot police post.An FIR was registered under sections 281 (rash driving), 125(a) (rash or negligent driving/conduct that endangers human life or personal safety) of BNS and 185 (driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs) of the Motor Vehicles Act.
