At the request of the shopkeeper, Zala approached the vehicle and asked the driver to either stop honking or step out and collect his order. This allegedly led to a heated argument during which Damor claimed he was a police official and threatened to send Zala to jail. Zala further alleged that Damor, who appeared to be drunk, caught hold of his shirt from inside the car, tearing it as he tried to pull away. During the scuffle, Damor reportedly fell out of the vehicle but continued arguing. As locals gathered, Damor allegedly abandoned the car and fled. Zala claimed that upon checking the vehicle, he found two liquor bottles in the rear seat and an empty bottle in the boot. The car was later identified as belonging to Damor.Police said a complaint has been registered under charges of prohibition and intimidation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Officials will verify whether the constable was under the influence of alcohol and whether the liquor found in the vehicle was in violation of the law.
