Ludhiana: Light drizzle and cloudy sky on Monday failed to bring about a significant relief from heat, with both day and night temperatures remaining above normal. The meteorological department said there were chances of rainfall over the next few days. Though several parts of the city witnessed drizzle and gusty winds during the day, the weather office did not record measurable rainfall in Ludhiana. Cloudy conditions prevailed for most of the day.Despite the drizzle, maximum temperature was recorded at 32.4 degrees Celsius, which was 2 degrees above normal and 2.4 degrees higher than the previous day. Minimum temperature settled at 17.8 degrees Celsius, 3.2 degrees above normal and 0.4 degree higher than Sunday’s reading.According to the meteorological department, Ludhiana is likely to experience a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers over the next four days. The weather forecast indicates that the day temperature may drop to 30 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, rise to 31 degrees on Wednesday, dip again to 30 degrees on Thursday, and increase to 32 degrees on Friday.Night temperatures are expected to rise to 19 degrees on Tuesday, fall to 18 degrees on Wednesday, increase again to 19 degrees on Thursday, and remain around the same over the following days.Meanwhile, residents appeared to enjoy the prevailing weather. Jasvir Singh, a city resident, said that the cloudy sky and winds made the weather pleasant, prompting him to walk to a nearby market to buy vegetables.Another resident, Ishpreet Kaur, said the drizzle added to the charm of the day. She said she enjoys such weather conditions, which are neither cold nor hot.
