Nagpur: A 31-year-old driver employed by a Sadar-based businessman died in a tragic road accident on Wednesday.According to police, businessman Ajit Challani’s driver Vijay Kharbikar had cleaned and parked the four-wheeler outside the compound wall of the residence of his employer in Byramji Town near Sadar while his boss stood beside the car. Road construction work was in progress in the vicinity at the time.
At around 11.50am, an asphalt mix truck (MH 31 AP 2872), allegedly driven recklessly, reversed at high speed and hit Kharbikar. The truck struck Kharbikar, pinning him against the compound wall and causing serious injuries. He was rushed to a private hospital in Mankapur, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.Sadar police have registered a case against the truck driver under relevant sections.
