Noida: A first-year MCA student was found dead in his hostel room in the Knowledge Park area, police said. The cause behind the incident is yet to be established. Knowledge Park SHO Vinod Kumar said, “No suicide note was recovered from the spot.”The 21-year-old from UP’s Kannauj had moved to Greater Noida around two-and-a-half months ago. The deceased was pursuing the MCA course at a private college in Greater Noida’s Sector 17A. On Thursday, police received information from a staffer of the private hostel about a student being found unconscious in his room. A roommate of the deceased had alerted the hostel staffers. A team from Knowledge Park police station, along with forensic experts, reached the spot and took the student to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.An officer involved in the investigation said the incident came to light around 4.40pm when the student’s roommate, a first-year MBA student at the same college, returned to their room. He found the door locked from inside and received no response despite repeated attempts to get it opened. The door eventually opened when he pushed it, as the latch was only partially engaged. He then found the student dead, the officer said.Investigators found that the deceased shared the room with two other students, both of whom had gone to college when the incident occurred. Police said the body was sent for an autopsy and the student’s family was informed.
