Noida: Noida Authority has decided to create three work circles — numbered 11, 12 and 14 — for the New Noida project, also known as the Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Region (DNGIR). The authority currently has 10 work circles, numbered 1 to 10. New Noida will have no work circle numbered 13, although officials have not explained why the number has been skipped. Interestingly, Noida also has no Sector 13.Kranti Shekhar, OSD at Noida Authority, said that the Authority is expediting work on the project. Three lekhpals have been deployed in the area to survey land and prepare a report. The Authority has also held meetings with farmers and gram pradhans of Dadri and Bulandshahr to explain the project and the land acquisition process.Another OSD, Mahima, who is overseeing the project, told TOI that farmers discuss their issues and concerns at these meetings. “In the last meeting, some farmers wanted to know about the land acquisition process and what would happen to their places of worship. We informed them about the rehabilitation and resettlement (R&R) provisions, which help affected families rebuild their lives and livelihoods,” Mahima said. Two general managers have been assigned responsibility for the new project. Senior managers and managers will also be given additional charge for the area soon for the land acquisition process.Last month, Noida increased its compensation rate by 53% for the category of land acquisition in which farmers are also entitled to a 5% developed plot. Compensation and developed-plot entitlements for the project will vary by phase.GNIDA recently increased its land compensation rate from Rs 4,125 to Rs 6,415 per sqm, while YEIDA’s rate has gone up to Rs 4,558 from Rs 4,300 per sqm. In phases 1 and 2, farmers will receive compensation at GNIDA’s rates, along with 6% developed plots. In phases 3 and 4, YEIDA’s compensation rates will apply, along with 7% developed plots.Under the proposal, 3,165 hectares will be acquired in Phase 1 by 2027, followed by 3,798 hectares in Phase 2 by 2032, 5,908 hectares in Phase 3 by 2037 and 8,230 hectares in Phase 4 by 2041.In the first phase, Noida will acquire land from 37 villages — 24 in Bulandshahr district and 13 in Gautam Budh Nagar. Following acquisition and payment of compensation to landowners, the Authority will develop infrastructure, including roads, drainage systems, sewage networks, power supply and water pipelines. Industrial plots will then be demarcated and allotted to companies, manufacturers and logistics firms.DNGIR is one of seven proposed investment regions under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC).
