Budgam : The popular Doodhpathri tourist destination in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district reopened to tourists and visitors on Friday after remaining closed for over a month.

Chief Executive Officer of the Doodhpathri Development Authority, Beigh, confirmed the reopening and said tourist-related activities had resumed at the picturesque destination.

“On the first day of reopening, nearly 500 tourists visited Doodhpathri,” he told Rising Kashmir.

Beigh said tea vendors had also resumed their activities and installed stalls at Raiyar, marking the return of normal tourist activity in the area.

Tourism-related activities at Doodhpathri had remained affected since the end of July 2026, resulting in a prolonged closure of the destination.

The CEO expressed optimism that tourist footfall would increase in the coming days and urged visitors to explore Doodhpathri and enjoy its natural beauty.

“We expect the tourist flow to Doodhpathri to increase in the coming days. People and tourists should explore Doodhpathri and enjoy its natural beauty,” he said.

The reopening is expected to provide a fresh boost to tourism-related businesses and local livelihoods dependent on the tourist rush at the popular destination.
