Kanpur: District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh on Monday conducted a surprise inspection of primary school Lodhwa Khera in Sadar tehsil and found a glaring mismatch in the attendance of teachers and students. Of the five teachers posted at the school, only Shiksha Mitra Mahesh Prasad was present. He said the absence of several teachers on the same day, resulting in disruption of studies, was a serious matter and directed officials to ensure that such a situation was not repeated. The District Magistrate also ordered officials to fix accountability for the extremely low student attendance and directed them to ensure regular attendance of children at the school.During the inspection, he also took stock of the mid-day meal arrangements.
