Gaya: With infrastructure work still pending at Sita Kund and Sita Path, district magistrate (DM) Shashank Shubhankar on Tuesday directed officials to complete all remaining tasks within 48 hours, ahead of the Pitripaksh Mela beginning on Sept 25.Shubhankar, accompanied by senior superintendent of police Sushil Kumar and Wazirganj MLA Virendra Kumar, inspected Sita Kund and Sita Path to review preparations.During the inspection, the DM ordered the setting up of changing rooms at Sita Kund and directed officials to properly fix iron slabs covering drains at several points along Sita Path. He asked that pending works be taken up on priority and that drain covers be secured to prevent inconvenience and accidents.He also instructed officials to immediately make standposts operational, repair existing toilets and add facilities wherever required. Continuous cleanliness at both Sita Kund and Sita Path was also ordered.To provide relief to pilgrims, Shubhankar directed the installation of large sheds near the two sites to allow tarpan under shade. He further asked officials to improve lighting, prune branches of large trees along Sita Path and repair damaged wall paintings as part of beautification efforts.SSP Sushil Kumar said additional police personnel would be deployed at Sita Path, Sita Kund and the parking area behind the dam to ensure security. He added that adequate parking arrangements had been made for pilgrims visiting Sita Kund.The DM directed municipal commissioner Gagan Kumar and the officials of other departments to coordinate and ensure all arrangements are completed on schedule.
