Kanpur: District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh on Thursday took a strong view of the poor performance on the CM Dashboard during a review meeting.Taking a stern view of the slow progress, the District Magistrate warned officials to ensure the expected improvement in line with the government’s intent or be prepared for action.He also warned officials who had already received warning letters that if there was no expected improvement in their performance, stricter action, including an adverse entry in their service records, would be taken against them. During the review, instructions were issued to record adverse entries against five officers and issue warning letters to several others.The District Magistrate ordered that an adverse entry be recorded against District Excise Officer Rajesh Kumar, as the Excise Department’s progress against targets in the district was found to be unsatisfactory and the department had consistently remained in the ‘D’ category.He directed that an adverse entry be recorded against Mandi Secretary Vijan Balian due to poor progress in market fee revenue and ordered that his salary be withheld for being absent from the meeting without prior permission. Directives were also issued to record adverse entries against the District Probation Officer and the ADO (Panchayat) of Patara for poor performance.The District Magistrate expressed displeasure over the Municipal Corporation’s performance during the IGRS review. Out of 1,574 cases concerning the Municipal Corporation, 759 received dissatisfied feedback. Taking the matter seriously, he directed that a warning letter be issued to the Additional Municipal Commissioner, who serves as the Municipal Corporation’s IGRS nodal officer, and instructed officials to improve the quality of grievance redressal.He also expressed displeasure over the slow progress of revenue collection. He directed that an adverse entry be recorded against Mining Officer Parasnath Yadav and a warning letter be issued to the AIG (Stamps).The District Magistrate also reviewed the functioning of the tehsils. Finding extremely poor progress in the determination of land shares, he directed that warning letters be served to all four tehsils. He ordered that a campaign be launched to dispose of cases filed under Sections 24 and 116 and that special camps be organised for share determination.He instructed all officials to regularly monitor revenue-related matters. Expressing strong displeasure over negligence in the collection of electricity bills, he directed that the dues be recovered in accordance with the rules.
