Kanpur: Chairing a Vyapar Bandhu meeting on Saturday, district magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh directed officials to address traders’ grievances on a priority basis.Traders raised the issue regarding the lack of public toilets in the Vikas Nagar Market, in response to which the additional municipal commissioner informed them that the construction of a ‘Pink Toilet’ facility in the market was currently underway. The AMC further said that, within the Shastri Nagar area, the construction of a Pink Toilet aimed at facilitating women was also in progress at the Galla Mandi Market. Regarding the demand to remove encroachments on the 80-foot-wide road stretching from BM Market in Govind Nagar to Juhi Nahariya on Hamirpur Road, the DM directed that the additional district magistrate (City), along with officials would conduct an on-site inspection on June 4 and ensure appropriate action.In the monthly review meeting of Udyog Bandhu, Praveen Yadav, executive engineer of the Jal Nigam (Urban), remained absent without any prior notice. Consequently, the DM directed that the disbursement of his salary for the month of May be withheld.The DM also directed the officials to repair the road connecting Dada Nagar to Vijay nagar within 20 days.
