Kanpur: The family court witnessed emotional scenes during the National Lok Adalat held on Kanpur Nagar court premises on Saturday, where seven estranged couples reunited after successful conciliation and mediation by judicial officials.In one case, a couple from Kidwai Nagar, living separately after minor differences, agreed to reconcile following counselling by court officials.As the couple met after mediation efforts, the husband broke down, embracing his children and meetinghis wife. The couple decided to resume with their married life. Judicial officials sent them home with hopes of a peaceful future.In another case from Kanpur South, a young couple married in 2024 had been living separately amid accusations that the husband did not take woman for outings and pay due attention to her.According to court officials, tensions escalated after the wife repeatedly asked her husband to take her out, but he ignored her requests, eventually leading the matter to court.Through counselling and mediation during Lok Adalat proceedings, judicial officials succeeded in reconciling the couple. Both later agreed to settle their differences and live together again.
