The BJP leader also claimed the legislator skipped a protest march led by Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS president Raj Thackeray in Mumbai on Sunday, demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation, due to fear of arrest.

Salian, former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, died on June 8, 2020, after falling from the 12th floor of a residential building in Mumbai’s Malad area. A week later, Rajput was found dead in his Bandra apartment, triggering speculation about a possible link between the two deaths.
The city police had registered an accidental death report and subsequently claimed, after an inquiry, that Salian died by suicide. Her father has demanded that a case be registered against Aaditya Thackeray in connection with her death.
The CBI recently registered an FIR in the case following the Bombay High Court‘s direction with a clear instruction not to name anyone as an accused.

“Yesterday, Aaditya Thackeray was not present on the stage. Illness was given as the reason for his absence. But it cannot be concluded from this that he has gone abroad or is preparing to leave. He may have even gone abroad; his whereabouts should be checked at his residence,” Rane told reporters.
Rane claimed that Aaditya Thackeray’s name had surfaced repeatedly in the FIR and statements related to the Salian death case and demanded that investigating agencies question him and establish the facts.
He also demanded that Thackeray’s passport be seized and a lookout notice issued if the investigating agencies have legal grounds to suspect that he may leave the country.
“If an investigating agency has a legal reason to suspect that a person may travel abroad, the procedures available under law should be used. A lookout notice, passport seizure or any other action should be based not merely on allegations but on concrete evidence and legal procedure,” Rane said.
He alleged that Aaditya Thackeray had stayed away from the public stage at the ‘Garjana Morcha’ organised by Uddhav and Raj Thackeray on Sunday due to fear of arrest, while the reason given for his absence was fever.
Rane also alleged that the Sena (UBT) MLA was linked to serious offences, including murder, gang rape and fraud, and claimed that his name had appeared 13 times in the FIR and various statements in the Salian case.
Notably, these allegations have not been established in court.
Actor Dino Morea, facing a probe in connection with a civic contract case, was merely a “mask” and Aaditya Thackeray was his “godfather”, the BJP leader charged.
Rane said his demand was only for a fair investigation and stressed that the law should be equal for everyone, irrespective of the person’s position.
Meanwhile, Aaditya Thackeray on Monday said on social media that he would join students protesting over issues concerning the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) in Pune on Tuesday.
He questioned why the MPSC chairman continued in office despite thousands of students demanding his resignation over alleged irregularities in recruitment exams.
