New Delhi: CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke Tuesday urged supporters to spend time with their families and loved ones during the festive season, acknowledging the toll the prolonged protests have taken on them.He also rejected comparisons with agitations in France, Nepal and Bangladesh, saying CJP’s movement is rooted in Mahatma Gandhi’s principles of peace and non-violence.In a video captioned “message to all cockroaches”, Dipke said the past few days had been difficult for the party’s volunteers, many of whom he claimed were beaten up or detained. He said their families faced great anxiety despite not having chosen to be part of the struggle. “We are fighting against hatred, but we have to ensure hatred does not consume us,” he said.Dipke said the resolve of Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka despite being in jail gave him strength. He urged supporters to pray for the two.He said comparisons with protests in France, Nepal and Bangladesh overlooked the current movement’s commitment to non-violence. CJP activists had gone to jail “with a smile” rather than resorting to violence, he added. “Our movement’s strength is Gandhi’s ideal. It is a satyagraha.”
