Vadodara: Vadodara railway station on Saturday got a digital lounge and co-working space, billed as first such facility at a station in Gujarat and second of its kind in India after Mumbai Central.Spread over around 200 sqm, the BRC Digital Lounge can accommodate 60–65 passengers at a time.The project is part creating modern infrastructure railway stations under the ‘Swachh Station’ initiative.The lounge, themed around Vadodara’s iconic banyan tree, is equipped with high-speed wi-fi, dedicated workstations, charging points, and meeting and conference rooms. It also offers printing, scanning and photocopying services, along with refreshments.Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Raju Bhadke said four new foot overbridges are expected to be completed within 18 months, along with improved facilities for persons with disabilities.The lounge offers flexible plans, including short-duration entry and hourly workspace access. Entry starts at Rs 200, with Rs 150 per additional hour. Shower facilities cost Rs 300, smart beds Rs 700 for two hours, and meeting rooms Rs 1,680.
